About Lumi Kids

Lumi Kids helps children aged 4 to 12 learn a language by speaking. Their tutor is Lumi, a friendly purple owl and an AI voice tutor: Lumi says openly that it is an AI, listens, answers straight away and corrects gently. Families can choose live voice lessons in the browser (15 or 30 minutes, one to five a week, at app.lumikids.live, from 5 October 2026) or the ad-free iPhone and iPad app “Lumi Kids: Learn Languages” for ages 4 to 9 (App Store, from 5 October 2026), which explains in 16 languages. Children can learn any of 11 languages, including English and German. Lumi Kids is made by AppFusion Labs, LLC.

How it works	Live voice lessons with AI in the browser: 15 or 30 minutes, 1–5 a week, on a 26-week speaking path, with a short report for the parent after every lesson. The app: self-paced word worlds, exercises, games and live talk with Lumi.

Safety and privacy	Lumi says it is an AI and never asks for surnames, addresses or schools. Lumi Kids does not record or store the child’s voice; audio is streamed live to OpenAI during a lesson, not used for training, and OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. No ads, no data selling. Only adults can buy.
What you need	Browser: a current Chrome, Edge or Safari (Firefox on computers) on a device with a microphone, internet, a quiet room. App: iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later.
