Terms of Use

The rules that apply when you use Lumi Kids, plus minute packs and refunds.

Scope. These terms are for the Lumi Kids iPhone and iPad app. For the lessons in the browser (app.lumikids.live) — weekly plans, the first lesson and withdrawal — the web app’s terms apply.

1. Parties and scope

The Lumi Kids mobile app and lumikids.live are provided by APPFUSION LABS. By downloading and using the app you accept these terms. The app is designed for children aged 4–9; the contracting party is the adult who installs the app and makes any purchase.

2. There is no account

The app requires no registration. Progress is stored against an anonymous identifier created on the device. If the device is lost or reset, progress cannot be recovered. Minute packs belong to the device they were bought on and cannot be brought back if it is lost or reset. A Lumi Plus subscription belongs to your Apple Account: on another iPhone or iPad signed in to it, “Restore purchases” in the parent area turns it on. If a purchase was charged but not added, the same button adds it.

3. Free use, Lumi Plus and minute packs

  • The first two levels (Seed and Sprout, 24 worlds) are free in every language, plus 60 seconds of live conversation.
  • Lumi Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store. It unlocks the other two levels (Sapling and Tree, 48 worlds; 72 worlds across all four levels) and adds 10 minutes of live conversation every week, shared by the family. The weekly minutes renew every Monday at 00:00 in your time zone and do not carry over.
  • The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly price is charged.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You manage or cancel it in your Apple Account’s subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions); a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • When the subscription ends, Sapling and Tree lock again; the free levels and unused pack minutes stay.
  • Lumi Plus works on every device signed in to the same Apple Account; it is not shared through Family Sharing.
  • Minute packs (10, 30, 100 minutes) are one-off App Store purchases. They are not subscriptions, do not auto-renew and do not unlock levels. (Packs bought in an app version before 1.1.2 keep the levels they unlocked.)
  • Level content (audio and pictures) is downloaded inside the app; the download may use mobile data.
  • Minutes are used second by second only during live conversation with Lumi: first the week’s Lumi Plus minutes, then pack minutes. Lessons, games and reviews use none.
  • Pack minutes do not expire as long as the device record exists.
  • The daily limit you set in the parent zone applies regardless of the minutes available.

4. Payment and refunds

All purchases are made through the Apple App Store and charged by Apple; prices appear in your local currency. Refunds follow Apple’s policy and are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a technical fault consumed your minutes unfairly, write to us and we will credit them back.

5. Acceptable use

You may not reverse-engineer the app, send automated or excessive requests to our endpoints, manipulate the minute or star system, or copy and redistribute the content. We may restrict device access if this happens.

6. About the content and the AI

Lumi’s live answers are generated by an AI model in the moment. We apply strict child-appropriate instructions and time limits, but we cannot guarantee every generated sentence is perfect. The app does not replace a teacher, a school or a therapist; consult a professional about concerns regarding language development. If you ever see an inappropriate answer, please report it — we treat such reports as a priority.

7. Intellectual property

The texts, artwork, the Lumi character, voices and software belong to APPFUSION LABS and may not be reproduced beyond personal, non-commercial use.

8. Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages, and in any case our liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the current version is always published here. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
